Harvest Park Middle School Students win 2nd place in State

The Harvest Park Middle School Destination Imagination team won at the State level competition held recently in Riverside, CA on April 2, 2016. Facing tough competition they won second place and have qualified to enter the Global Finals at Knoxville TN from  May 25th 2016 to May 28th 2016. Attendees from 45 U.S. states and 14 countries are also expected to attend. 
Destination Imagination (DI) is a nonprofit, worldwide, volunteer-led, after school program. It is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage, and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning.
The 4 member team from Harvest Park Middle School, Pleasanton “Team Unavailable” includes 8th graders  Ishaan Alva, Aditya Bhaskar, Vasudha Iyer and Suraj Rajan.
They won the First place at the Regional Best of the Bay competition held in Dublin CA.They also received the special Renaissance Award for the engineering and design of their props.
At the State Level competition in Riverside, “Team Unavailable” won second place in their category “The Meme Event.”  Coming up next for the team is the Destination Imagination Global Finals at Knoxville TN in  May 2016. Many thanks to the community and school for supporting our students!
