Principal’s Message to Families

Hello!

We are two days away from the start of school.  We are so excited to meet and get to know your family.  We are doing everything we can to create an accepting and safe space on campus.  School will open up at 7:45 am for A period, and 8:30 for 1 st period.  Breakfast will be provided. August 11th is a Wednesday, and just like always, students will have Access, where they will make friends, get organized, and plan for the rest of the week.  We think it will really help our students to get acclimated, both academically and emotionally.  We will soon have our “Coffee with the Principal”.  Please look out for an email from the PTSA.  I’m so happy that the new school year is just around the corner.

See y’all soon!

Students will be dressing out for PE this year and using the locker room. PE clothes are available on Future Fund for purchase. The deadline to order clothes is August 27. Clothes will be handed out to students during their PE class once they arrive.

ACCESS 6 -8  - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Tuesday and Thursday will no longer be called FLEX due to the way Access was set up by the district in Q. However, the intention is that Tuesday and Thursday Access will eventually operate the same as Tuesday and Thursday FLEX as in the 19- 20 school year.

For the first 3.5 weeks (plus or minus) students will be attending their assigned teacher for AC on their schedule for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Tuesday and Thursday Access will eventually be something where students can receive support or intervention from their teachers throughout the school day. Wednesday Access is where students will learn school wide expectations and receive social and emotional learning support.

Students will follow the bell schedule for the next few weeks and report to their assigned teacher on their schedules.

Staff Birthdays

This day in history...

We have no birthdays this month!

In 1936, Jesse Owens won his fourth gold medal as part of the US 4 x 100 meter relay team, having already won the 100 meters, the 200 meters, and the long jump at the 1936 Summer Olympic Games in Berlin.
