Hello, My name is Jack Parsons and I am thrilled to be your Vice Principal. I am very excited to be a part of the Leadership team at Harvest Park Middle School. I feel my number one job at HPMS is to inspire, engage, and encourage students to be the best they can be in and out of the classroom!
I began working for Pleasanton Unified School District in 1996. I have taught Math and Physical Education at Harvest Park as well as coached football at Amador Valley High School. In 2001-2002 I founded the AVHS Boys Lacrosse program. Before coming to Pleasanton, I worked in Union City at Cesar Chavez Middle School as a Math and Social Studies teacher. My 20 years experience at Harvest Park have given me insight into our community and school culture.
I am originally from St. Louis Missouri but moved to Oakland, California at a young age. I grew up in Oakland, and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, GO BEARS! I received my teaching credential and Master's Degree from California State University, East Bay. I hold teaching credentials in Mathematics, Physical Education, Economics, History, Geography and Civics. I also earned a Crosscultural, Language & Academic Development (CLAD) certificate.
During the past few years I have served as one of our Vice Principals. My responsibilities include; all student matters for students with last name N-Z, all application classes, ASB, student activities and elections, athletics, event supervision, facilities, maintenance and grounds, field trips, developing and implementing our technology plan and allocation of our tech resources, safety plan, school wide calendar and textbook ordering and distribution.
I am in charge of the following departments Mathematics, Physical Education and Science.
Each day I am inspired by my colleagues and excited to work with such dedicated educators at Harvest Park Middle School. The commitment of the families and the spirit of the students create an amazing community. I love coming to work everyday!
I am very excited to meet each of you and get to know your families!
