Harvest Park Cross Country 2016
Student Athletes and Parents:
Thank you for showing interest in the Harvest Park Cross Country program. My name is Mrs. Bauman and I am excited to be a part of the team this year. For those of you who do not know me, I have been teaching 8th grade block at HP since the 2009 school year. I love Track and Field and Cross Country and competed at Amador and Sonoma State. Track and Cross Country are the BEST and I hope that you all feel that same way at the beginning and end of the season.
This is a great age for student athletes interested in running to learn about the basics of the sport. During this short season we will focus on learning how to train for competition, becoming familiar with how meets are run, and having a good time.
On the backside of this letter you will find a practice and meet schedule. It is important that student athletes make it to practice so that they are prepared to compete at the meets. Practice will only be canceled if facilities are not available on account of weather. If practice is canceled, an announcement will be made during the school day to allow students a chance to plan accordingly. I will also be communicating with TeamSnap. Please download the app and join our team by going to the following link, https://harvestparkmiddleschoolcrosscountry.teamsnap.com.
Student athletes must come to practice with appropriate running attire. P.E. clothes and running shoes are considered appropriate. It is also a good idea to bring a full water bottle to practice as well.
Parent volunteers are both needed and appreciated! Please contact me at Abauman@pleasantonusd.net if you can help. Thank you in advance.
Parents will provide transportation to and from meets. Students must arrive before the 1st race, even if they are not running in it to allow time for a team warm up. Carpools may be arranged.
Harvest Park Cross Country shirts will be worn on meet days as the 2016 uniform.
